Superman: Man of Steel #118 - Nov. 2001

"Time and Punishment" by Mark Schultz, Doug Mahnke, and Walden Wong.

Superman gets transported to another dimension, and there waiting for him is the new Spectre, Hal Jordan. And within a few moments, some others:

I really like that panel there, for its oddness and for the clearly delineated perspective of the differing statures of the figures. Though I never dug the idea of the Quintessence, and the Stranger especially seemed out of place in their midst.

Not to beat a dead horse but as I mentioned in a previous entry, I really did not like this issue. I don't like the idea that Superman has to go to the kangaroo court of Magic-Weirdo Town for having the AUDACITY to be a superhero, and I especially don't like the idea of the Quintessence as a legitimate entity.

Mark Schultz?? I remember him from his Xenozoic Tales days. Now he's on Superman.
Boy, have I ever been out of the Comic-ballgame for too long. (About 10 years...)
