
By the first half of the first year of The Spectre, Moench had managed to work in most of DC's supernatural characters as guest-stars.
This issue features Zatanna and Madame Xanadu (as the nice cover by Mike Mignola indicates), as well as a return appearance by The Phantom Stranger, who imparts an important piece of info to The Spectre about a fellow mystic, the seemingly-dead Zatara:
