Yet another item I missed was this 2004 gatefold poster by Alex Ross featuring all the members of the classic Justice League of America, plus some of their friends, honorary members, and assorted hangers-on:
This was sent to me by Fantom Stranger Russell "Eagle Eyes" Burbage. Thanks Russell!

Nice catch, Russell. I like how PS is the only one playing it cool. It's like, "You guys can rush off, but I'm gonna just take my time."
I admire Ross' talent, and his devotion to Captain Marvel and Plastic Man, but the diehard fanboy in me hates to see them in a classic JLA pic. They were never members, honorary or otherwise, of the classic JLA!!!
Okay, rant over.
Chris
E2 Chris, I thought the same thing so don't feel bad. It leads to a whole discussion about Ross that this isn't the place for.
BTW, Ross also did one for the Justice Society (which I own). I figure the price was about the same for both. So for anyone who is interested, it was about $350.
The question I have is - what does Alex Ross have against Firestorm? Firestorm was a member for quite a long time and Ross never includes him in any of his JLA paintings. In fact - i believe (but correct me if I'm wrong) that the ONLY time Ross has painted Firestorm is for the Crisis poster that features everyone from the maxi-series and even that was penciled by Perez!
^Good question. I don't have an answer, but when I was looking at Alex Ross's site, I did come across a few interesting Phantom Stranger things.
Apparently the Stranger was in Justice? I don't know if that series was ever covered here, but there are two pictures (right-side, 2nd and 3rd row):

There's also a Phantom Stranger wallpaper image (5th from bottom):

Huh-- Justice seems not to have been covered here.
There were a lot of boring and dreary things about Justice, but the Stranger rescuing Hal Jordan in #8 was definitely not one of them. It's a pretty substantial appearance, and a good Silver Agey-JLA kind of Stranger thing to do.
Yep, I goofed and completely forgot about Justice. I'll have to get it to later. D'oh!
Nice exemplar! I like it specially by the colors utilized in the drawing, they provoke a dark environment, perfect for this character.
